Civic Association Meeting
Our meeting will feature a presentation by TowerPoint on behalf of LI Smart Solutions. They will outline a proposal for a 150' Cell Tower on Town of Brookhaven land nearby the Sunshine Prevention Center and Boyle Road Elementary School.
Additionally, we will learn about the our local and regional marine resources impacting our area. Robert Carpenter of the County Dept. of Economic Development and Planning will discuss the Suffolk County Working Waterfront Committee, established in late 2025 to preserve marine industries through conservation easements. Joining him will be our neighbor, George Hoffman of the Setauket Harbor Task Force who has been part of the Town Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP). This project will outline strategies and projects aimed at enhancing public access, strengthening connections between the downtown areas and the North Shore waterfront, updating local codes and ordinances to facilitate sustainable development, and integrating sea level rise projections and resiliency measures into community planning.
